2025 Tiny Build Partnership with Local High Schools
At Hand Up Housing, we believe in the power of education and hands-on experience to create lasting change. Our Tiny Build Partnership with Local High Schools to empower students to develop real-world construction skills while making a meaningful impact in their community.
Currently, Southwestern High School, Roxana High School and Triad High School have launched their Tiny Build programs, with students diving into their classroom materials and preparing for hands-on training. Alton High School will soon join them once their materials arrive, expanding the program’s reach.
Under the guidance of experienced construction teachers, students will work together to build a tiny shelter from start to finish. These shelters, in future plans, will be contributed to the Riverbend Bridge Community, a 24/7 navigation facility supporting individuals in their first 30 to 90 days of recovery and renewal. By combining education with service, students gain invaluable trade skills while directly helping those in need—proving that learning goes beyond the classroom and into the heart of the community.
Follow along as we build futures—one tiny build at a time.
