
TETHERED TECHNICIAN
General Description
A Tethered Technician’s main responsibility is to befriend and build trust with those living on the streets in our communities and learn the appropriate tools to help when needed and provide written documentation of the experience. The Tether Technician (T3) is a support person in the community identifying and providing services to individuals and families who are unsheltered homeless through direct street outreach activities and through reports/referrals from shelters, police, churches, human service providers and others. They are outgoing and friendly. The Tether Technician provides support to
the client and to the other agencies, connecting hard-to-reach clients to the appropriate
services.
The Tether Technician (T3) needs to be self-motivated, a quick study, able to work with
little supervision, good time manager, good with detail work and able to relate to a wide variety of clients and community resource people, and able to take direction. The T3 will also be kind, compassionate, but will have boundaries and be able to share responsibilities and say no when needed and appropriate.

Through our educational courses, you'll become certified with Hand Up Housing to provide relational support helping individuals build self-confidence and healthy connections with others.
As a Tethered Technician, you'll act as a consistent guide, encouraging individuals to engage with the right resources and take positive steps forward.
